there is no law in florida for throwing them away in regular garbage. many bins are for newspaer type material and even though they state its a fine to dump other than what its assigned for, the fine goes to the person renting the dumpster as it has to pay for the cost of sorting trash from attended items.

For now, it is legal to throw newspapers in the garbage. But just wait, one of these days the environmental case wackos will have a law passed outlawing this. These crazy Nazis will prowl around the neighborhood seeking violators and turning them into the local Recycling Gestapo. Just wait, I kid you not. That's what this country is coming to!

Depends upon your local laws. Newspapers SHOULD be recycled. It is the right thing to do. If you have recycling, then do it. Otherwise, you have no choice but to place it in the trash.

The USA is the most wasteful country. Even "lowly" Peru has better environmental policies. It's pathetic.

It isn't illegal to put your newspapers in the trash where I live in Warrenton, Missouri. You might want to call City Hall where you live and ask them. Different states vary a lot on how they handle recycling. I used to live in Indiana and they really made it easy to recycle and they got everybody involved. Missouri doesn't go out of its way to make recycling easy.

If your county has recycling laws, it's strongly incouraged to put the paper in the recycle bin, and it is the right thing to do, but I doubt if anyone will come out and fine or arrest you if you don't.

yes, you can put anything in the trash. Actually don't think you would get a fine for putting trash in a recycle bin too but that would just defeat the purpose.

The law may be silent on this particular point, but there is no compulsion on anybody to recycle the paper. It's expected from citizens that they must protect the environment and recycle the paper.

It's better to put them in the recycle bin, but it's not against the law. You can order free recycle bins from your county disposal system online.
