It's the ONE thing that I think the whole world has in common. I went to a ballgame and had a hotdog, nachos and garlic fries, so, yes, I am an unashamed hog ... oink, oink!

Nah, it is just that eating is something that every human being has to do, while liking sports, politics, music or anything else isn't. So, food questions have to be more common, they simply have a common denominator of a subject.
