I know it will sound funny, but drink hot lemonade freshly squeezed and sweetened by either honey or sugar. I'm partial to honey. Having a piece of candy also soothes the throat because you make saliva to swallow.

Well, I know how you can get rid of the allergy. I have an allergist that cured me of an allergy to milk, soy, and hormones. he can even find out what you are allergic to in a painless way, unlike reg. doctors. The thing that makes it permanent is the acupressure, its done all in one visit. There are 7,000 licensed and registered holistic allergists, they must be trained as doctors or chiropractors first. I'm going to a guy in my town, it only costs $45 and you are cleared of an allergy in 24 hours. No kidding, no tricks. i swear I was skeptical it would work but it did. No matter how severe the allergy, it can be cleared.
licorice and oregano tea will sooth your throat will help allot, a spoon full of hunny lasts a while too (it coats your throat). but these fixes are temporary. email me for more info about the allergist, mine will gladly look up someone licensed in your area.

You can eat honey straight from the jar all day until your throat gets better. However it should be said that the honey needs to be cold pressed and not bought from the supermarket shelf where it has been heated. The heating process takes all the goodness from the honey.

You should try something warm. My favorite is a nice hot cup of green tea with a bit of honey to help soothe my throat.
Hope you feel better soon!

Gargle with warm salt water. It soothes the throat, and changes the pH in your mouth, killing many nasty organisms that may be the cause of your pain.

a little orange juice... a bit of chicken soup... chewing gum helps.
life savers... there's also over the counter sprays for the throat you may wish to investigate, don't recall the names but you'll know what to look for.
hope this helps. there's also a over the counter medication that's a 12 hour allergy med (it's not very powerful) but i've known it to get rid of that 'itch'. i think it's by contact or benadryl.

Try some teas by "Yogi Tea" found in your health food section of supermarket. There is one called "cold season" that's really good.
lots of cough drops work well, try Hall's or Fisherman's Friend (can't stand the taste but ppl say they work)
get lots of sleep & rest
