I believe that women are the more evolved gender of the species- any thoughts on this?

Women recover better from strokes with more mental faculties than men. Women handle stress better than men. Women have a more efficient metabolism than men. Highly developed language centers are found in women's brains that are not generally present in men's minds. Women use their intellect to solve problems- not just brute force. Women have more DNA in their chromosomes than men. Women suffer fewer genetic diseases than males becuase of their redundant DNA. Women tend to be the civilizing force in societies, regardless of their status. Women can better survive starvation than a man. Women are less likely to freeze to death because of fat stores. Women are much less likely to suffer from color blindness.

Yet, people still seem to think that women came from men- if they did, where did the extra DNA come from? I have heard theories that women are the default humans, and males are a genetic mutation that developed to help humans survive through better genetic diversity. So what gives?

Take for instance, the Wild West. Who tamed the Wild West? That's right- WOMEN!

The men may build the towns and be the poineers, but when the women move in, you have City Hall, Libraries, Schools, civic organizations like the Women's Club, mayors get elected, trash and garbage pickup gets organized, a Sheriff gets elected or appointed.

The men seem to be more worried about shooting someone or having a peeing contest to get down to the nitty gritty of running a real town.

Oh- and when Berlin got bombed nearly flat in WW2, who cleaned up the mess the men made? That's right- women. Who organized and worked hard to bring that city back from oblivion? Women.

Rosie the riveter, who made the B52's the US Army Air Corps used to do these boming runs, were women. I have heard that the manufacturers of the B52's were really impressed with the work women did- they were more consistent and patient with their machines.

First of all, let's cut out the value judgement bull. No need for that. Most of the things you cited were relevant, but some are the result of socialization. The "civilizing force" is gendertyping silliness: the view of society towards women(including women towards themselves) shifted from them being inherently evil (gotta love colonial Puritans) to eventually being the moral keepers of their household: "Angel of the Hearth" (google it for more). Clearly that's a varying cultural issue. And then there's the sweeping generalization that men can't solve problems with intellect? That's downright offensive. That having been said, I've never heard that women come from men; I've always heard it the other way. Every fetus starts out as female. I could argue that as such, men must be the more "developed", but whatever. As for brain functionings, we have different strengths; can we leave it at that?


NB: I'm not saying that women aren't oppressed in this society, nor am I saying that that's perfectly acceptable. But, let's try to keep rational about it and avoid the same gendertyping used against women.

Unfortunately, the slanted stats here fail to make the connection that females are more evolved. Point by point:

*Strokes are more prevalent in men, yes. Women recover better because fewer have strokes.
*Define "better'
*How is metabolism beneficial on an evolutionary scale? Explain?
*Are languge centers present in men at all? How much more developed are they in women than men?
*Studies show that the male brains are more easily able to understand math and sciences. So much for intellect versus brute force.
*Redundant DNA is redundant. This is significant, at least, but what shows women suffer fewer genetic diseases? Especially since an overabundance of DNA is more likely to cause a mutation to be passed on to offspring?
*If a woman's metabolism is more efficient, how are their fat stores larger?
*What affect does colorblindness have on evolution of the male homo sapiens sapiens?

It's easy to twist stats to reflect an opinion.

It is a fact that children with big feet are better spellers......

because kids with big feet are typically older, which implies more education.

Rosie the riveter was trained by men. There were still plenty of men working in the factories during the war. Besides, if it wasn't for the men fighting in Europe and in the Pacific, you would be blowing the offspring of Hitler. Or maybe be the next ******* queen of Tokyo.

The B-52 bomber was not a WW2 aircraft. Try B-17 Flying Fortress, B-24 Liberator, B-25 Mitchell, B-26 Martin Marauder, B-29 Strato-fortress. These aircraft were the main bombers of the Army Air Corp. There were also scores of medium and light bombers, and fighter aircraft that were also involved in the conflict. But, I wouldn't want to overload your superior brain.

First of all I would call into question, most of your statistical factors.. Women are the nurturers of our civilization, therefore would be considered the civilizing force..

My observation reveals you spend too much time in the studies of intellectual minds and ivory tower recluses.. you tend to take statements as fact and you don't appear to get out into the world to fortify your conceptions or your conclusions. You also apparently don't spend any time reading a lot of the posts in "answers". If you did, you would most assuredly have to back off most of your statements. Whether you are young or old, you have not been an objective observer of female behavioral patterns. Simplified, the female needs and wants... a secure home (nest), a devoted mate, and non-conflict.. but on the other hand, have you ever seen or heard how women feel and act toward each other? Should you determine that to be a picture of evolvement, you are entitled to your opinion, I guess.

Not all of your points are completly valid.
such as women beng the civilizing force in societies. obveisly you have forgotten how competitive women can be among them selves in different ways than men yes but still competitive.
Let us not forget that in societies that are or were Matrical in nature the females were a lot more agressive and blood thirsty than men.ps it was women that found out about poisins and used them befor men did.
One the whole both sexes balance out depending on what the role is and how much practice they have in different fields.
Women mature earlier than men do because they have only so many eggs in their overies that they need a running start to have a large family that was needed when all or most work was done by hand and muscle. when a male hits puberty and it is in full bloom can sire children from then until they die.
but to balance this out females generaly live longer than males and not just because of wars.
for your last paragragaph.that is still a good question that has yet to be answered. one one hand Women used to be worshiped as diety because they gave birth to new life and the males role was still unknowen. so we had a macrical society with women on top so to speak.for a long time. then men woke up and saw how badly women were running things that they rose up and over threw the rulers. and established a matrical society in its place . and males on their own are messing things up as badly as the female societies did.
So one conclusion is that we need both to rule as equals to get things done right for a change.

How very one sided- you did not say what things things women are weaker in as oppsed to men - what you have written is not obective or unbiased- it is however haughty, prideful and egotistical. I could do my research too- I know that men recover from heart attacks faster and better than women- more women die from a first heart attack thean men- I am sure there are plenty of other things

There are many ways men are better than women. There are many ways women are better than men. The only difference between men and women is in the hormones. Your list is inaccurate; you missed the 20/20 special on Race and Sex.

Well I dont know if either sex is superior. But it is common knowledge that the Y chromosome that men have is like stunted deformed version of the X chromosome that we have two of and men only have one. Which means men dont have a back up, so therefore they are usually the only ones who are color blind and are more likely be born with hemophilia.

I was just discussing this with a friend today. Most men can't even run a household, so why is it that we let them run the world? It's nuts.

They are good for carrying heavy things though.
