Why did we stop at 50 states? It has been a long time since we admitted Alaska and Hawaii into the union, how about we open it up and start expanding the empire once again. I believe that Puerto Rico, Somoa, and Great Britain are already close. It would decrease the amount of "foreign aid" we shelled out if we could incorperate a few of these (Israel) and get the tax base to be had. Heck most of these little countries are smaller than the average U.S. state anyway so why do they get a say in how the world is run anyway (France).

These other countries have a say because they are a soverign nation that is independently ruled. Just because we're bigger doesn't mean we get to run everything, that's at the very core of what defines freedom. Also, in order to become a state, the territory would have to apply for statehood because we can not simply declare another country to now be apart of the US, doing so is an act of war. Puerto Rico has not yet applied for statehood but attempts to pass a resolution to do so within the territory have been made in the past. Same for the American Samoa. Britain would never apply for statehood, that's an absolutely absurd idea considering we originally broke off of them. Israel is an independent country and would never apply for statehood because that completely conflicts with the idea of Zionism. France would also never apply for statehood because it too is a soverign nation.

How about we start with voting rights for the District of Columbia before we start worrying about Samoa? We pay Federal taxes yet have no Congressional vote or representation. We don't want to be a state. We don't want to become part of Maryland. We just want a Congressman (or Congresswoman) who is actually allowed to cast a vote.

You want Great Britain to be a new state of the U.S.? Wow! Interesting. The EU may have something to say about it though.

Imperialism. Conquer. I think we've had enough of that.
