Don't be freaked out...My husband and I are going through the exact same thing right now. In fact he has an appointment this week to go for a second semen analysis. How it works here is you take home the sterile container(no sex for 3 days prior to test), put you swimmers into the container, take them to the lab right away(within an hour) and drop them off. All done in the privacy of your home. You will get the results from the OB/Gyn at the next appointment. So, relax and don't stress too much. By the way, I would have had my husband type this for you, but he types soooo slow. Good luck!

Been there, done that. I was scheduled to go to a lab to give a sample. However, when I got there, it was not like the ones you see on TV. Just a regular lab where they take blood, urine, etc... I had two options, go home and have the wife help (always fun), or go to the restroom and provide one.
Too bad the house was too far away, I believe you need to get them the sample around 30 minutes after 'donation'.
If you give one on site, just remember what Jeff Foxworthy said on one of his shows. Stay in the room a little longer than it takes to do the job. Don't wanna look like a freak or anything..

Yeah. Was not given an option of 'at home' though living downtown, commute times make that risky.
Bare bones room, a few magazines were provided. In you go, do your business, provide sample. No lubricants allowed - they impact sperm mobility.
Also had to provide samples twice at an IVF clinic. This one the room was slightly fancier. I.e. it had a dvd player full of porn. Whose job is it to go buy porn for the 'sample' room? I find it kind of funny in retrospect. Its an IVF clinic - people trying to have babies - and in spite of the fact the girl in the movie was having sex with a lot of men, there was no chance of any of the acts she was involved in leading to pregnancy ...
Of course the first time I had to go to that room, there was a power failure. I was sent off with a cup in one hand and a flashlight in the other in one of the more retroactively amusing situations in my life. Yeah, I don't have three hands either.
Oh one thing to note - you shouldn't have ejaculated for two days before hand, but at the same time, you should not have gone longer then five days. Less then two = not enough sperm. More then five = old sperm.

Don't be freakes...my hubby did one. We had to take it to the lab. They have certain times they accept a "sample" because it has to be kept warm. We took the sample at home, then ran it over to the lab. Its fine...all you do it masturbate and collect the semen in a sterile cup...nothing to it!!

Fertility clinics usually provide a room to "give sample". There are videos and magazines (porn) also. I've seen wives getting inside also.
