G'day, G'day mate, How r ya going, Howdy, How ya doin, Howsit goin, Ow ya goin mate, G'day matey, Hiya mate, How ar they hangin, Top of the mornin to ya, Good Evening, Good Day, Good Mornin, Mornin pal, Mornin miss, Mornin missy, Mornin Maam, Hiya love, Pleased ta meet you, Ho, Hi there, Hey bloke, Chow man, Greetings, Merry Xmas, Happy brithday and many others in the same vane...
Theres thousands I guess but these are the most I use with a few different nods, smiles, body language, grimaces and other facial contortions that convey meanings that suit the occasion.
Then there are greetings on the net....like flowers and presents...romantic message greetings, love notes and letters of condolences and others.

I smile and touch the person at the arm or put my arm around his/her shoulders. I do not necessarily say anything.
Not in the job though because of that does not comply with professional behavior. But with all my buddies and friends. I do not even say a thing sometimes. they all know.....it means hi, I like you as my Friend and how is life treating you today?

I would smile and nod my head or I would ask "how are you today?"
