If someone went in for a ultrasound, would the doctor or nurse allow the patient to keep an image of the ultrasound. If they had this image, in what form would it be? Could someone take a picture of this image on a webcam some how, and would it turn out well at all if they did that? Also, could this picture be scanned on to a computer?

When you go in for an ultrasound, most offices print out a few pictures, on some thin paper. I had 2 done, at the first one I got 2 shots, and at the second I got 4. Also, some offices have the software to put the whole ultrasound onto a video or DVD. My mom has a video recording of my brother and sister's ultrasounds, but my OB didn't provide that service.

As for a webcam, I don't know. I guess that'd be something you'd have to see for yourself, as I don't have a webcam, but I know that if you would try to scan or copy the ultrasound picture, the white background would turn dark from the heat, and the image would be ruined.

My OB told me that when they gave me the first set. I left one of them in the car for a while, and it was so hot in the car that that one is now black and grey instead of black and white like the rest.

I was recently pregnant and was able to have a video made at the office and also have pictures provided to me. The doctor actually suggested that I scan the pictures to secure their longevity.

My ultrasounds were recorded on video tape. Ask before you go. You don't want to get there and then find out you could have taken a video tape or dvd to have it recorded.
