My husband just found out he's getting a job offer from a company out of teaneck, NJ. If he accepts the job, we'll have 2 to 3 weeks to move.
Can anyone give me advice about good towns to live in, how much rent to expect, etc?

PS We've never lived in the New England area before.

New Jersey is a boom town itself. There are hardly any poor areas remaining.

Expect to pay dearly for renting or owning in New Jersey. It boasts the highest property taxes in the land.

I just love it here, but I would move in a hearbeat to another country like Italy or Ireland if I could live there free.

Unfortunately, many places are getting more and more expensive to live in, and I can't see how anybody can be able to swing high mortgages in these times for average houses selling in the half million dollar range. Seems outrageous.

I wish you luck, but I fear you will be in shock when you see how high the cost of living is in New Jersey.

I don't know of many jobs around today that can keep up with these high costs.

I keep writing and writing about this problem facing many average working Americans, hoping that one day we can all catch a break.

The area around teaneck is either really nice/expensive or really crappy. There isn't alot of middle ground. If you can afford the nice areas, it's really a great place to live.
