There called fart can mufflers and they do nothing for actual performance. Get a real exhaust system that will both sound good and improve performance.

Holy hell! You people need to get off the Ignoramus Express! The guy's just asking a question! And if he wants to modify his his car, what does it matter, it's his interest and money, no?
Now to answer the ? It can be just the exhaust system, muffler, resonator, air intake or a combination of some or all. If you want to get into tuning your car get some magazines and do some research online to see what your best options and prices are for your applications. Good luck, enjoy, and don't let these retards get you down, there's alot of people into the car tuning scene, they enjoy it, and make a good living doing it.

its the muffler itself it has nothing to do with the intake its the muffler, its a waste of time and money on those stupid rice burners and there stupid fart cannons

i believe its an overall cobination. some of them have resonators or baffles like dirt bikes. plz dont do that to your car :-P
