If you get it for a bargain, then could be. We got a serger several years ago...it came pre-threaded b/c it is so complicated to put the thread in. If you get it, see if your local sewing store(s) offer a class on them. Ours did, we took it and learned how to use it better.

surgers are very expensive.
this is an awesome deal as long as it works right.
if you don't plan on using a surger for design then you don't need a five thread and a three thread is usually just right for beginners.
i wish you luck if you decide to get this one.
