They were very lucky to be a rebound away last year. They're still a first-round playoff team and that's about all.
You can't win in the NBA today with just one Superstar. Everybody has one. Minnesota has Garnett. It's not enough. Tracy McGrady- not enough. Kobe- not enough. Vinsanity- not enough. Iverson- not enough.
You need TWO elite Superstars to win the whole thing- like Shaq & D-Wade, or Duncan & Robinson, or Shaq & Kobe, or Duncan & Ginobili (and Parker) - or Magic & Kareem, or Bird & McHale, or Doctor J & Moses, or Jordan & Pippen.
That's just what it takes nowadays.... the Lakers need a 2nd *star* not just a good role player, to be back in the elite ranks again. Lamar isn't a star, he's a very good player.
If they have to trade Bynum or Kwame or Lamar or whoever to get an Iverson or Stoudamire or Elton Brand or somebody like that to team with Kobe for the 1-2 punch, that's what they must do- bottom line. Otherwise they'll win 4-5 more games next year, make the playoffs then lose to one of the western teams like Phoenix, Dallas, San Antonio...

They will most likely have a mediocre season. I do not see them making it past the first round of the playoffs with so many great teams in the west that are established. The Laker's that was the "dreamteam" of Shaq, Kobe, Malone, Payton, etc is no more- so I dont think they can compete with the Mavs, Suns, Spurs, etc.

i think that they will make the playoffs again and hopeful get past the first round. They are a good team if other player get involved and i am hopin that Kobe will not have to carry the team as much as he has the last 2 years. I know they can be a good team watching them last year proved that if they play as a team and not a one mans game then they are capable of beating any team.

Honestly, I think it is no difficulty for entering the play-off. However, they will stuggle at the first round.
Compare with Suns, Marvericks, Clippers, Lakers still only rely on KB one man band. Nowadays NBA is focus on teamwork. One man team cannot do much in playoff.

They will probably make the playoffs but who knows how much farther they will go. Yes they have smush kobe and Vladmir but they lack post presents. This would be different if you had a Dwight Howard or a KG on the team

I expect the Lakers to reach the Western conference finals this year. Their recent additions would help them tremendously, particulary Radmanovic and Farmar.

Well, I think they can make it to the playoffs but if the team is only being carried by one man(Kobe Bryant) than they will have difficulties.
