is there anyway to help it... my doctor thought theripy after it happened and the following year would help and it never did... sure, the problems are less frequent now but... he never has found anything to help, but tylonol and ibreprophen...

Take them for atleast three days regularly always on an empty stomach and do let me know their effects.

Ligaments are the connective tissue between joints which help to keep them locked into position...Partly due to a 'low' blood flow to ligaments, they are generally slow to heal. It is also possible to re-tear the ligament before it is completely healed, bringing you back to square one.
In the case of a tear, the ligament can heal in a somewhat 'stretched' manner causing a problem with stability. When you are involved with activities which are hard on the joints like jumping, running etc...your joint may be shifting slightly out of alignment causing inflammation and pain.
In the case of a 'severed' ligament, it can actually heal wrong by inserting itself away from its original point.
Lighten up on the activities which shock and twist the joint, but do not stop exercising.
