I mean with fixing things around the house. He is gone like 2 weeks at a time. Home for maybe 2 days. i feel guilty when ask him to fix something that I cant. i have dealt with a sewyer backing up in basement by myself and getting ladder out and putting storm windows twice a year on. Im not helpless but sometimes it gets overwhelming. Since he has been gone 2 weeks do I ask for help or just let him watch TV?

this is a tuff one to answer. If you are over whelmed with all that you need and have to do in his absence, by all means ask for help from him. I can see this from your point of view and his.

If you can afford to pay somebody I'd do that you have little time together and why bug him with this stuff. Mind you if he likes fixing things and being helpful when he does praise him make a big deal about it go on how wonderful he is and how since he's been so great you'll cook him a fancy meal etc. My husband works away lots and when he gets home I always have things the kids broke or I stuffed up...it makes him feel needed.... Like I can fix the PC, stereo or video but I can't fix the mower or door... He loves it.. Sometimes he says as soon as he gets home what do you want done than he does it and he goes now whats my reward? It's like a cute game after a wile.

think about it ? if he only gets 2 days home after 14 days out do you think he wants to do anything ??? SEX/RELAX/SLEEP/leave its all he has time for. ive been a driver for 10 yrs i own my own truck and trailer i pull a stepdeck so i'm dealing with chaining down strapping things down put in the weather all the time rain snow ice it dont matter. the only way for me to do any thing around the house is to take off from work witch i just did for 7 wks. and i did alot of repairs to our home but now its time to make $$$$$$ so the lil stuff she can do on her own i dont have time. even though i would like to do it all for her. because I LOVE HER

Stop nagging the poor guy! If I was on the road that much and got bitched at when I was home, I would find a way to be gone four weeks at time and home two days, Call a damn plumber! Get a neighborhood kid to help with the chores. Just stop nagging the poor man. He deserves to have little rest when he is home. And you deserve to be able to get a handy man or professional when you need them.

I understand that he is never home - but he still lives there and is your husband. Let him come home and rest for a bit but then ask him for help.
