Why are emo's so darn ridiculous?

Can anybody tell me why emo's like to act and look so bloody stupid?

it pisses me off. I remmeber years ago when it was Geek Rock. Then these "i dont know who i am anymore, so im gonna cut myself so i know im still alive" people came along. They ruined the music, and the culture. Slowly seeped into our culture infesting the extremly happy people.

I did notice a coralation between drug use and alcohol use. They do seem to use alcohol and drugs more often than a regular person.

They are all beeing conformists being non-conformists, so they can suck balls.

Someone should do to them what happened to their self esteem.. run it over with a steam roller..

For the dictionary, emo means The term emo was derived from the fact that, on occasion, members of a band would become spontaneously and strongly emotional during performances.

Another thing is, true emo existed in the early 90's and soon therafter died out. The whole emotional thing is what carried over into indie rock with such bands as dashboard confessional.

90% of the emo kids out there dont know who Gray Matter is, and if they dont know who they are, THEY ARE ***** EMO!!!!...

they just depressed little kidss brought up on the med generation (generation of medication heals everything).... Damn prozac, tegratol, lithium, trileptol, riddlin annd all those meds that people think fix kids.

What parents need to do is beat their kids, so that way they wont cut themselves, they know what real pain feels like, and it will keep them inline.


If they are depressed, LEAVE the ******* house. i had no friends and never left the house, and im the happiest guy. they need to realize their life doesnt suck. Compare it to peoples whos lives do suck. Like my friend in the US who has 2 crack addict parents, and 2 siblings to take care of. She was the only survivor of her 6 friends in a limo after prom one night thanks to a drunk driver.. now thats emotional..

Ever wonder why people are the way they are? What's ridiculous to some people isn't that way for many others. Maybe you like the Emo's and are afraid to admit it. Maybe you want to be one of them. But wait you're a normal aren't you?

very well i might want to be fairly previous LOL or completely out of the loop what the hell is emo if you're seeing solutions like you suggested above why might want to each person prefer to attempt this in the time of first position who's conscious of perhaps its better if i do not recognize

Stop stereo-typing and being mean. They are not all about bleeding, black, cutting, and being depressed, "Emo" people laugh, and not all cut. They cut because they're is something wrong with them. I am friends with "Emo" people they are very nice, and only one of them cut, and they are very happy people, they are just quiet, but always have smiles on their faces, get over yourself!

why do they label themselves? its like all the depressed peope and loners who didnt fit into any group came together and made their own clique, they could have just stayed who they were without the costumes.
