I do have sevral lacoste polos that are 100% authentic. I was not sure though which is the best way to wash them. I asked sevreal of the people who work at the store but not all of them had the same answers. Some said wash them by hand and others said just do it in the washer but dont put in the dryer. none of them said to dryclean it though. Would it be good choice to dryclean them or no?

Just wash them gentle cycle and line dry or auto dry delicate. By law care instructions have to be on the garment somewhere. Find it.

It's a great question.

Caring for clothes that you like is important, and there's actually more than one correct answer, which is why even the folks at the store had different things to say.

Unless there's silk or modal listed as one of the fabrics in the shirt, you don't need to dry clean it.... and if you took it to the dry cleaners, they would most likely "launder" it like you would at home. (But it would look all pretty and nice and folded or on a hanger.)

You can simply follow the tag instructions which likely say something to the effect of wachine wash, tumble dry low, iron if needed. And this will certainly work, but it may not be the BEST way to keep the fabric looking new.

Since most lacoste shirts are 10% cotton (some 94% Cotton, 6% Elastane), you'll find that a cold wash will make the colors fade less over time. To keep the colors bright, I recommend adding a "Shout Color Catcher" cloth in with your load of wash.

This will keep other clothes from bleeding their own colors onto each other, which can still happen even in a cold wash.

Ideally, lay flat to dry and then iron if you must. If you MUST dry it in a drier, use only the delicate cycle as this will prevent more wear.

I've kept some polos in excellent condition for MANY years using these techniques.

Good luck!

Disagree with the above answer about machine wash, I have ruined two Lacoste shirts by washing them in the washing machine, the dealer advised me also not to use washing machine because Lacoste is 100% cotton. Just wash it on your hand in a warm water and leave it to dry in a sunny place.

Wash in warm/cold water in the washing machine. Put them in the dryer for no more than 10 minutes; less if it's a really hot commerical dryer like in a dorm or something. Then take them out and either lay them over the towel rack or some similar thing, or hang them up if you have good hangers. Crappy hangers will make them dry with puckers on the shoulders.

I worked at Lacoste

DO NOT DRY CLEAN THEM.

Lacoste polos shrink very easily. They need to be washed on COLD and HUNG DRY.

Any sort of heat (water, dryer, etc) will shrink them.

you can wash it in the washing machine, put it in the dryer for only about 10min then let it air dry the rest
