This is a crazy story, I'm followin it too.
Steve Foley had 3x the legal amount of alcohol, and was shot by and off-duty Coronado police officer. The news media has been trying to say the officer had a grude against drunk drivers because his father was killed by one. But that's all fooey, IMO.
In his defense the officer said Foley was reaching for something in his pants, but who knows. Last I heard, the shots entered through the BACK of Foley's leg, which suggests that he was leaving the scene, not attacking the officer.
I personally think that it's hard to ID an officer at 3AM when you're really drunk, esp. when you see no cop car, no sirens, no uniform. But then again Foley is a big dude, maybe the cop acted prematurely.
Whatever the outcome, doesn't seem to be affecting the Chargers' D...they've only allowed 7pts in two games.

They say Foley was driving with a BAC three times the legal limit, and he has a history of run in's with the cops. The cop was off duty, out of his jurisdiction and shot him 3 times. The officer is currently on paid leave while under investigation. Hard to pick sides on this one.

Is this someone else? I know the former linebacker Steve Foley was shot by an off-duty police officer in plain clothes. Foley & his girlfriend insist the guy never showed a badge so they thought he was a carjacker or crazed fan... Crazy stuff. Did one of their defensive backs get shot too?

None of this would have happened if he had stayed sober and acted his age.
