I dont know why they would do away with layaway. Its not like layway hurts their company or at least I dont know how it would.

You mean lay away! Yes, it is taking up more and more spaceall thetime, and if they don't have lay away, that is than many fewer cashiers they have to hire. its all about making more money for them, not convenience for customers, Some walmarts are also refusing to take returns, The ones in my city are sending all returns to the onestore that makes the most profit, so the share each employee gets is reduced to what all the other stores are getting. I don't shep there very often any more. They don't have any respect for their employees.

I mean honestly, if you can go ahead and buy the merchandise Walmart is selling then maybe you don't need it or can't afford it. Either way you shouldn't waste time putting it on lay a way. It just increases walmarts prices and the rest of us pay for your lay a way impulses. IF YOU CAN'T AFFORD IT DON'T BUY IT.

do you pick up your layaway on time? do you never cancel them? Chances are if you use layaway enough to be upset by this you are the reason they are getting rid of the service. People put lay aways on and then cancel them...leaving old merchandise to sit and never sell...then we basically have to eat the markdown because some idiot can't manage their finances.

I have never used layaway so it doesn't bother me. I didn't even realize Walmart had layaway, I seemed to have thought stores kind of did away with it.
