Tell her flat out. Then, since you seem to think you know so much about it, you help her to pick fashions more favorable to her shape and style.
I hope for your sake that she is not just dressing comfortably because that is what she likes. She may take your offering to help her as a real insult. Some of us DO know how to dress in a classier style. We just choose not to because we like to be comfortable.

Gently suggest that she try something different. Take her shopping then after you help her pick out clothes tell her to try them on for you then gently, very gently tell her something else might look better. If you make a huge issue of it, it will only make her want to dress like that to an extreme. You will have to be patient with it.
Try to explain to her that the negative attention is not something that you want for her and positive attention is. Tell her she can still look sexy for you in other clothes but, maybe what she wears you really want to see in the bedroom.
I hope this kinda helps and maybe gives you a few ideas on what to say just remember be very careful in your choice of tone and words!

Maybe give her some fashion tips so she can look sexy without looking slutty. Show her some magazines on what people are wearing now. If she doesn't have a lot of money she could always shop at Wal-Mart or Kmart. They have nice looking clothes that look conservative.

If you are uncomfortable going out with her or if it poses as a problem, you should tell her how you feel with subtle hints. It's always better to be nice. Maybe you can get her gift certificates to a store you would like for her to shop at. That's a good start.

Yeah, tell her! You are her friend and you need to be honest to her. Thats what friends are for. If my friend dresses trashy or like a hooker, hell yeah I tell her...... I know how you feel. I had a friend who use to dress like an old lady when she was only 23. It can be embaressing...

Question. When you met her was she not dressing this way? So obviously you were attracted to her style of dressing. As a result do you really have much right to tell her to stop now?

It would be nice if you offer to go shopping with her and pay for the kind of clothes that you would like her to wear. Some girls shop for what's on sale, not necessarily what is nice looking.

How about you suggest taking her on a shopping trip. You can both go shopping and when you see something you like, ask her to try it on, or when she likes something you don't, try to find an alternative for her. That way, your not coming staight out and saying "this is what you look like, you need to change."

Tell her that she should find a new style. Don't be too mean about it though otherwise she may dump you. Maybe take her to the mall and suggest items you like.

my advice is too take her shopping or buy her some new clothes and tell her that those are your favorite outfits of hers. most likely she will wear them...but that is only a temporary fix...you need to tell her how you feel cuz if you don't you relationship with her could slowly go downhill. just...when you tell her be nice, gentle, and loving.
