Yes, I agree this was a surprise. We can see this Saturday night what kind of year ND will have when they go to Michigan St to play on ABC. If they really are the 13th ranked team in the country they will struggle but probably beat the Spartans. My guess is they beat Michigan State by 3-4 touchdowns. Michigan beat the living daylights out of them no doubt about it. I still think ND is a talented team but a loss like this one at home has to raise a lot of questions.

I thought they would drop to 15-20. I do think they were overrated, #2? I don't think they did anything to warrant being ranked that high, except for who they are. The pollsters need to forget about what ND used to be, back in the day, and really look at who they are now- just a slightly above average team- pretty good, but certainly not great.

I happy about the poll. They weren't that good. They have an average QB, less than average RB, and 1 good WR. Last time I checked u needed more on a team than that 2 be considered one of the best in the nation. I call the fall down the polls justice!!!

Yeah they've been overrated all year and the first game they squeeked by a tough Georgia Tech team. That game should've been their wake up call but was a precursor to their season.
Not only did they get blown out by Michigan but it was at home and Brady Quinn can watch his Heisman hopes fade to Troy Smith.
I predict a loss to Michigan State (back to back) and USC.
I love College Football

I think 13 is pushing it. They got smoked. Notre Dame was a lot more over rated than Texas was. I think Notre Dame should be 18.

Notre Dame's defense was a big question mark coming in to the season and Michigan exposed it.

yea, but they are usually overrated, so 13 is still too good for me, i like maybe 20, they are the one team that gets more bullshit calls their way than any other team ever because they pay the officiating crew, who want to be invited back, and the crews at away games would like to be invited to south bend also so ND gets the calls.

Notre Dame was over-rated and Michigan was under-rated (and maybe still is) its still pretty early - none of this matters yet.

I am very amazed to see them placed this low, I thought they had more influence in the bcs than that. Maybe they missed their bribe payments this week.

well now i think that after getting blown out they deserve it, but they do deserve special treatment with the schedule they play without a conference
