No American made hybrid autos yet. gasoline isn't severe adequate, and the call for for hybrid autos would not justify the charges. Honda has supply up making the Accord hybrid because of a loss of sales. take a seem on the main familiar autos and what do you notice? finished sized autos, in spite of gasoline over $3/ gallon. American vehicle makers understand that American purchasers want super autos with an incredible type of area, and there is not any longer adequate call for for a hybrid automobile. The Ford get away/ Mercury Mariner is as close as you're gonna get for now, or you ought to evaluate the recent Chevrolet Tahoe 2-mode hybrid, and why no longer? It gets the comparable city gasoline financial device as a 4 cylinder Camry.

As far as I know, Ford is the only American company to make a hybrid, the Escape. Honda has one too. Of course the Prius was the first, and it's the only one to be built from the ground up. The other two were cobbled onto existing technology and are nowhere near as efficient as the Prius.
I wonder, BTW, how you can call any car American-made these days, when so many of the parts are manufactured abroad?

The 1917 American LaFrance Type 16 Gasoline-Electric Aerial Ladder Truck Made in ElMira, NY. It's all-wheel drive with an electric motor at each wheel, the generator is powered by a 75 hp 4-cyl T-head engine. I think there's still one in California somewhere.

The Toyota Prius.
It is made in Georgetown, Kentucky.
the question is about the best
*AMERICAN. MADE. HYBRID.*
The Toyota Prius is made IN AMERICA by AMERICANS.
I think that satisfies the criteria.
I think that makes it in a way, shape, or form, American.
