what does it mean when your iguanas fingers start to fall off?

Make sure it is getting enough calcium/vitamin D. Do you put these vitamins (in a powder) on it's fresh greens? You can get this powder at almost any pet store. The reptile also needs plenty of UV rays to process the food properly. But to be on the safe side, consult your vet.

Get him to a vet! It could be that he's losing toes due to a bad shed (stuck sheds cutting off circulation to the toes, fairly common actually, I'd worked with a tegu that lost almost all it's front toes, poor thing :-( ), Do you have the proper UVB lighting for it? It may even be a result of badly broken toes due to calcium deficiency. One thing's for sure, he NEEDS to see a vet pronto!!

If they are just falling off, you should take Iggy to the vet. They can break off, if they get stuck and the Iggy uses force to pull themself free. I've had mine for almost 10 years, and it still has all fingers and toes.

fingers? falling off? is this a joke!? ...he needs calcium. but he needs a vet first!!! and stop feeding him too much lettuce if u do.. even if he loves it! its jus a snack.. and doesnt really have nutrition.. iguanas esp need alot of calcium! and lettuce doesnt have it.. but take him to a vet... fast.
