Log in and go to Change Account settings (its an option next to your picture). Go to privacy settings and there you can choose all sorts of stuff including hiding when you are online.

i'm honestly not sure, but i know, ways to hide lots of other things on ur page, such as
- Hide Contact Box
- Hide Details Section
- Hide General Info
- Hide Last Login
- Hide Only Your Friends
- Hide the Search Form
- Hide Friends
- Move Contact Box
- Remove Links
- Remove the URL Box

go to account settings.(next to your picture, under edit prfile.)
then go to privacy settings(the fifth option.)
then under there you will see a check box that says Hide Online Now.
and check it
and then click Change settings

go to edit profile. account options. then it says something about the online now thing.

If you go to your Account Settings there is an option to take it off.
