Collect hockey pucks... Many leagues to collect from, and they are cool to see on display. I have over 2000 in my collection.

I've been collecting hockey cards since the 1950s, and have complete sets from the 1957-58 sets until 2002-2003 (ran out of room) . I've never collected for value, and don't think I ever will.
Is it worth it? Definitely, I still get a great amount of joy showing my grandchildren the quality of cards in the 60s compared to the 90s.
What are worth more? Who knows, that isn't the purpose of collectiong in my opinion, but with the way the plethora of card companies are pushing special cards, kids don't know any better.

I was born in 1956 and collected baseball, and hockey cards from the early 60's on. The sound of a Bobby Orr rookie card in my spokes was almost as good as the Mickey Mantles and Willie Mays. lol (heavy sigh). Have a few thousand left for my boys, take them out on occasion. It is cool to show a 9 year old who Tim Horton was. Definitely worth it. As far as the most valuable? I have a Bobby Orr rookie card that went from the package to a plastic sleeve as well as more than a few great rookie cards. Value of cards will depend on condition and any card could be the one that ends up being your most valuable so take care of them all. You had a few people suggest Beckett to check values. Check e-bay as well.

I collect football cards and can tell you that rookie cards are usually the worth the most. Short prints are worth more than jersey cards most of the time. Yes, it is worth it.

Hockey card collections HAVE NEVER BEEN about "the money". Case in point -- prior to 1989 there were only 2 real hockey card companies -- Topps and O-Pee-Chee. Card were collected out of passion, hobby, etc. Within 3 years there were a dozen or so "card companies" making card which escalated in price and caused 'collectors' to purchase, leave unopen, and store cards. THIS IS CRAP. OPEN THE CARDS, TRADE 'EM, PLAY TOPS OR KNOCK-DOWNS ETC. HAVE FUN WITH THEM.

I have a Red Wing collection. It is worth it if you enjoy it but you have to find the right person if you want to sell. My fave cards are two Yzerman rookie cards, a Sergei Fedorov rookie card and all my Vladimir Konstantinov cards.

I have a huge collection. I don't do it for the value of the card so I can't answer the rest of your questions. You could go to becketthockey.com and perhaps find out more.
