Yes, it is possible. She may get her skin color from someone farther back in the family than her mother. It is no different than a child having a different hair color than either parent. It may be a gene that has been dormant that just popped up. ( I am a blonde, my husband had dark brown hair, we had three blonde daughters, and then a son born with fiery red hair( and it stayed red!) Talk about some funny looks.

There is no for sure answer when it comes to the color of your babies skin. My husband is mixed (his father very dark black, his mother very light skinned and blonde). He is very light brown with dark hair and dark eyes. I am white and our first son is whiter than me with blonde curly hair and blue eyes. Our second son is darker than my husband with dark curly hair and almost black eyes. My doctor says he enjoys having patients that are mixed because it is always a suprise to see what the baby will look like.

Yes. Genetics are weird. My dad is like 3/32nds Cherokee, and me and my siblings are 3/64ths Cherokee, but you can tell we're part Cherokee cuz we have darker skin and darker hair. However, my dad's father (who is part Cherokee as well) looks more white and so does my dad's brother.

I just recently heard of an unique set of twin girls, born to an interracial couple. One girl was black; her sister was white. Saw pictures too. Look it up and I'm sure you'll find something.

Absolutely! My family is Anglo and I have a brother who looks just like my father but is so dark when he was very young Spanish speaking people would try to talk to him in Spanish. When you are 4 years old and hear another language it tends to make you ask questions. Now he is in his 50's and the same thing happens. He takes it in stride now with a sense of humor. And yes, he still looks and acts just like our Dad.
