scientific notation?

I need help on a couple of problems!

1). when 4561 is written in scientific notation, the expontent indicating the power of 10 is?

2). A negative exponent in scientific notation indicates a number that is (greater/less) than 1?

3).when 0.0021 is written in scientific notation, the exponent is (Positive/negative), where as when 4540 is written in scientific notation, the exponent is ( positive or negative)

Those are my ?'s and i need them by tomorrow the 18th! So hurry!

Scientific notation is of the form a x 10^b where a is a decimal and b is a power.

If b > 0 - the number is positive
If b = 0 - the number is an integer
If b < 0 - the number is less than 1

Here is some help. To find the power of 10, simply count the # of decimal points.

1) the power of 10 is 4

2)A negative exponent implies a number is greater than 1, because negative simply implies an even greater amount due to the division rule of exponents

3)Positieve then negative

I am genuinely trying to help, versus others who post wrong answers. If you didn't notice, the first two people posted the wrong answer to screw you over.

power of 10 is 3...move the decimal point so the number is 4.561 and count how many places u moved it

less...move the decimal point the other way

negative..number is less than one positive...it is greater than one
