My idiot friend knows that I used to be male and now I live as a woman. He seems to think that driving a truck is a masculine thing and he questions my sincerity as to my desire to be a woman.

He seems to think that "only men or lesbians drive trucks", yet I keep telling him I am straight, a woman, and certainly NOT a man.

He seems to see the world through very stereotypical eyes, that women should wear pink gingham dresses, wear perfume, and bake cookies. Men should be rough, tough, and ultra masculine.

I prefer to wear my Lee jeans for women, a cotton tank top, and a pair of boots. I am very much a country girl and I love living in the country.

I also don't look anything like a man- when I tell people that I used to be a man, they don't believe me, and it takes a while to convince them that I used to be male. I am very much a woman, in body and mind.

So back to the question- I just think trucks are practical, and not a sign of being a lesbian. Any thoughts on this?

Sorry- I meant a pickup truck, not a semi or a lorry.

I can kind of see where some people get that, but I don't think it makes a dam bit of difference. I used to adore my brother's tonka trucks and I still have a secret desire to climb up into a bulldozer and mess around with it, and i'm very feminine, but i'll bet some people would say different if they saw me driving one. Preconceived notions, sigh. You are never going to be able to set everyone straight (no pun intended), so you can either except their way of thinking and let it go, or find different friends. Drive that damn truck! lol.

"What's to prevent a rapist from dressing as a woman and abusing women in the lavs?" -___- They'd be doing that already then, transexual people being allowed in to their own genders bathroom by law or not. There is such a thing as unisex bathrooms/toilets, which your example could happen in (and I haven't heard of it happening there any more than single sex toilets). And what, you've never heard of a rapist going after the same sex? That can happen in any toilet, single sex toilets aren't magically immune to rape. Honestly I think they should have a 'private toilet' for people who don't like having others around (regardless of what sex or gender they don't want in the toilet they go to), and a 'public' one for whatever sex. That being said, I'm not in favor of separating toilets by sex or gender (as you might be able to guess I think it's more a matter of having 'private toilets' and 'public toilets'). So I don't really care what point in transition a transexual person is, I think they should be able to go to the loo that suits their gender or just simply which loo they want to go to. Edit: "And "ladies", if you ARE going to use the women's room, please sit down to pee. Nothing is more disturbing to a woman than being in the next stalll and seeing a pair of size 16 Norma Kamalis FACING the toilet and hearing that person tinkle." *facepalm* There are women that have big feet, so shuddup about the shoe size. And what, do you look under the stall to see if they are facing the loo/have big feet? I haven't seen a toilet yet that lets you see into the next one unless you put your face right near the floor. And personally I can't tell the difference between someone peeing standing up and someone peeing sitting down. Most don't pay attention to their pee sound anyway, they do their business and go. Edit: "Sure, you have the right to do whatever you wish with your bodies, and I support your right to do so. But, lets not try to legitimize it as anything more than extreme fetishism. You do not become a woman, but only a dikless man. But, hey, whatever floats your boat. And the next FtM trannie Bear who comes on to me I'm gonna punch her in the throat." Ever heard the song "**** you" by Lilly Allen? Please, do some research and have some respect for another human beings identity. If you're here just to hate and argue then don't, it's a waste of energy. Come back when you are at least neutral and up for a polite debate, otherwise expect some insults back. Bye now, trollish one.

If you tell him what you said here, there's a chance you could end his ignorance.

There are people out there who see the world the same way you see it, a man is a man and a woman is a woman, and the things they do don't really emmasculate or effeminize them. I suggest that you find more people like this and not pay attention to your "friend".

Half your luck! I never learned to drive at all. Still it saves license fees and petrol.

You can drive anything you want! Just because you're a man or woman doesn't affect what you can drive.

Trucks are machines...nothing more nothing less...perhaps your friend would prefer you to spend more time with a washing machine?....It doesn't sound to me like he'll ever get it.
