its fluid in the lung spaces (usually there must be gas only O2 & CO2)
mainly due to heart failure where the heart can not pump blood efficiently so the blood accumilate backward in the lung.
or
sometimes due to intrensic lung disease where the blood poors out of the capillaries into lung parenchyma
In either cases the fluid(blood) will take the space of the oxygen & so oxygen level in the body will decline leading to death.
Gatric mucosal edema is a pthological term, it doesn't tell you alot but there is HYPERAEMIA in the stomach wall which could be due to lack of oxygen too.It is a result of body hypoxia & not by itself a cause of death.
Sorry for the loss.

Pulmonary , has to do with the lungs.Edema is swelling of tissue due to excessive amounts of fluid in connective tissue or cavity. Could also be part of pneumonia or (C.O.P.D). Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. Could also be several other things caused it. I would have to read entire report to help.
Sorry for your loss.
