I'm rephrasing this question because people misunderstood it last time.

I'm not a smoker... I'm asking this question because I want people to remind themselves of how smoking is affecting their lives. After reading some of the responses, I got a little emotional to be frank... I've read that they would be healthier, live longer, be happier, look better, and be richer... so how can smoking be worth it?

I would be so much healthier, happier, energetic, and would have so much more money! I would have more respect from my family and friends. My walls would be allot cleaner from not having so much nicotine on them along with everything else in my house and car. I would be more attractive from less lines around my mouth and wouldn't have to constantly bleach my teeth ( which causes my teeth to be sensitive ). My kids wouldn't have ever had to be around the smoke ,which I'm ashamed of! There are so many countless ways that my life would be better If I had never started smoking, but the biggest most best reason of all would be that my life would probably be allot longer! That means more time to spend with my kids and their kids and maybe even their kids too!!

Hi, I have smoked for more than half my life now and I'm just in my mid thirties. If I had never started smoking I would be able to breathe better and not cough like I do now. I would have more energy to do my yard work and walk longer distances. My hair wouldn't stink as well as my car. I would have had thousands of dollars extra to have spent on something other than cigarettes.
Now, will smoking kill me at a rate 10 years sooner than people that never smoked? Will smoking kill me next year? I won't know the answers to these questions until it's too late.
My advice to you, especially if you are a young person-DON'T SMOKE. Do something better with yourself and your time.
Good Question.

I have been smoking for 14 years. I truly wish I had never started. My life would definitely be different. I wouldn't be sick as often, I would have more energy, probably more money and I would definitely feel better. It's a nasty and disgusting habit. I have tried to quit twice with no luck. I am going to try again soon, but I guess I have to set my mind to it. Hopefully I succeed! Do you smoke? Is this why you're asking or is it just a curiosity thing?

I had been a smoker for 30 years when I suffered a stroke that had me in a coma for 5 days. That was 23 years ago, meaning I've lived for 23 years with the effects of that stroke. In graduate school I had studied carbohydrate chemistry form one of the leading chemists in that field. Today I would have trouble giving you the chemical structure of glucose.

Smoking is not good for health. From the respiratory track irritation to the last one, lung cancer.Thousands of poisonous harms existed in the burning cigarettes, instead of inhaling the pure Oxygen, the smokers inhaled toxic substances into their lungs.I am against smoking.

None in the least! I still would have been who I am and not been any different. The only difference would be is my compassion that I have for those who do smoke. I don't cough and pretend like I'm dying because your second hand smoke hit me in the face!!!!!!!! Give me a BREAK! I don't smoke any more but just because someone does why treat them like the plaque? That's insane!

OK, let's see here:
40 years X 52 weeks X 7 days X (avg) $2.50 = $36,400.
That would have covered 1/3 of my first house or my first 6 cars.

At this point I don't think much different. But I'm still in good health according to my last physical. I might have a little more money. But I would probable just have found something else to waste it on.

To be entirely frank.. My husband, kids and mother-in -law could all be dead and I could well be serving time!!! Fortunately rather then systematically kill them over various incidents I had a cigarette instead!!!!!
