I'll answer as a fan of someone who has as many wins as JJ this season. Jaylyn, people hate Jimmie Johnson because he whines too much. Granted, he is getting better at not whining (his tirade against Harvick when he admitted to brake checking Harvick in the Shootout), but he has a long way to go. And yes, he has a history of choking in the last 10 races. With as dominant as he is during the season, he should have won both 2004 and 2005 titles, but didn't.
But Johnson dropped a cylinder, ran around out there until it went, but Sterling Marlin slid up the track, into JJ, and then the car was toast.

He strarted developing engine problems. He thought that it was running on seven cylinders. Under caution, they attempted to find the problem, which meant he was going to start in the back. With being back there, one can find trouble easier and he got into another's mess. Sterling Marlin moved to avoid hitting another car and Jimmie happened to be there and got pushed into the wall. He did come out later to gain a spot or two, but his day was pretty much done.

He dropped a cylinder, and then wrecked into Sterling Marlin. Came back onto the track to finish 39th -69 laps down.

He First had a dropped Cylinder, and later bounced off the wall allowing him to continue his black cloud days in the final 10 races.
If you look back he allows starts the season strong and fades at the end.

His day started off bad with losing a cylinder, then while running in the back of the pack, he got caught up in a wreck that pretty much ruined the rest of the day. He will bounce back, but has an up hill battle.

I think he got this vibration and then he just lost the handling of the car and wound up 9th in points from 2nd and finished 39th, 65 laps down I believe, and I think they will rebound because they are the team that has rebound the most this season. Check out the full story on NASCAR.com they will have it somewhere on there. Its probably going to be on the front page if not just click on headlines.

I don't really follow NASCAR much, but his car had problems.
He even went to the track without the car having the cover on the engine.
