I am trying to burn a cd for my friend from my iTunes playlist. I have "Nero" and I follow all the directions but when I put in the cd to burn, it says "Please insert the cd". It's not reading it. What could be the problem?

there are many possible answers to your query:

1. you might have inserted a cd that has been already recorded or not blank.
2. it might be a bit smudge (the reason your cd-writer is not reading it)
3. are you sure your cd player is a cd-writer and not a plain cd-player?
4. the nero program might not be responding or corrupted.
5. your pc has a virus present, preventing your cd-disk player/writer to function.

Is the CD a CD-R or CD-RW disc? Is the CD blank? Do you have 2 CD drives in your computer? Are you putting it in the right one? Are you sure you have a CD Burner?

The CD probably isnt blank or you have a big fingerprint on it. Try a different CD. Maybe that one is bad in general.

The cd that you are trying to use, to burn it to, may be no good. Try another cd.

Your either not putting it in all the way, or as all the other people have said its probably not blank, so try a new disk. If all else fails you can always ask your dad for help.
