If you look this up on the internet, you will find that the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has recorded 65 hurricanes at or near New York City since 1861.
It is very easy to look things up on the internet. There is a little box on most browsers called the search box. Type in something you want to find out about, and a thing called a "search engine" will look for it for you.
Try "hurricanes in new york," and you will find out what I found out. It's a lot quicker and easier than asking about it on Yahoo! answers. If you are just lonely, you can get a dog, or a cat, or a bird, or even some fish. If you really get brave, you can try getting some friends.
Good luck.

Not all hurricanes are like Katrina. Most of them are just rain and wind. Don't worry.
