The GOP holds common U.S. citizens in disdain, seeing us only as pawns in their profit game. You're exactly right: they've played this shell game since George W. Bush took office. While they claim it's amatter of "supply and demand" and the price of gasoline is controlled by the marketplace, they really simply manipulate the price of gasoline to their own advantage.
Jack it up to three bucks and gallon, and everybody's delighted when it comes down to $2.75, not remembering that just a year ago it was only $1.99.
Lower it just before the mid-term elections (and claim it's all because the summer driving season is over), and let the Republicans take credit for the price decrease. Then, as soon as the Grand Oil Party (GOP) is in control again, watch the price of gasoline soar! Prediction: if the Republicans retain control of Congress, the cost of gasoline will rise above $6.00 per gallon by the end of 2007. An they'll blame it on the marketplace, not on the oil companies' price gouging and manipulation. -RKO-

If you think any politician, from any party, is in control of gas prices, then you ARE stupid. Obviously you were schooled in government schools where they do not teach economics. The price of gas is determined in the trading pits of the commodities markets. As with all such entities anything that scares the traders into thinking that the supply of their commodity may be shortened will push up the price. If you want someone to blame look to China and India and their massive economic growth and development. Blame the buttheads who had anything to do with policy that restricts drilling for oil and made it unprofitable to build refineries. Blame yourself for being under-educated.

perhaps you are not so stupid, but a lot of people are. Actually, a lot of the working poor are so busy making ends meet, perhaps they do not have time to keep up with politics.

The GOP has the average citizen so geared up to be afraid, they will believe most of their lies. Never forget what FDR said," We have nothing to fear, but fear itself".
Don't forget to vote!!!!!!!!

i appreciate those style of partisan questions. this is unhappy that you attack the Republicans. this is unhappy because it capacity you nonetheless carry out desire. you imagine the Democrats will be our saving grace? provide up desire, guy. you'd be a lot happier. Open your eyes and see that both activities are both corrupt and there is not desire for u . s ..
