2 Folds
# 1 you need to take the drug (Ondanosteron ) while taking chemotherpay to decrease the nausea.
# 2 you can NOW take (Cyproheptidine also called Priactine) to restore appetite.
Both drugs are by prescription.
I wish you get well soon.

I just finished Chemo 2 months ago.
My 6 sessions lasted 7 hours with each visit...

The only problem I had with my appetite was that there were a few of my favorite foods that I was no longer interested in.

Each persons experience with Chemo is different, and it also depends on what type of Chemo you had. (the drug itself)
I do know that the Chemo remains in your body after the sessions up to 6 month (again depending on the type of chemo you endured)...
So with that, I think as the Chemo leaves your body, then eventually your taste, hunger and desire for foods will return.

I myself have taken Herbs and Natural Spices all during my treatments which resulted in practically no side effects and no loss of appetite.

With sincere wishes for only the best to you.........

While you're on chemo, and for weeks afterward, your taste buds are not working properly, so it's natural for food to taste wierd. It's important to keep eating a balanced diet so that your body can heal from the effects of the chemo, as well as the cancer. Sometimes that means forcing yourself to eat. If you are having trouble with nausea, ask your doctor about prescription anti-nausea medications that really work. After your body has recovered from the chemo, your appetite will come back.

Best wishes to you.

Congratulations on coming through!

Eat small amounts of spicy foods that titillate the senses. Even if you like bland stuff, things with lots of lemon, cinnamon, or vanilla will taste good.
