Honey, if you have been on your period for two weeks, you definitely need to get to an OBGYN. The only reason I say this is because I am 26 yrs old and if I would have went to my doctor when I was doing the same exact thing that you are doing, I still might have been able to keep my female reproducing organs. I was diagnosed with Uterine Cancer in January of this year. I had surgery done, and now I can't have any kids. Sucks to be me. I should have listened to my mother and payed more attention to the signs. (i.e. bleeding for more than 7 days at one time)

There is a broad range of "normal" among menstruating women. Unpredictable or long menstrual cycles are normal for teenagers and women in their 40s. If you are a teen, you can expect cycles to even out with time. If you are nearing the age of menopause, you can expect menstrual cycles to become longer and eventually to stop. If you are not a teen or older than 40 and your cycles are shorter or longer than 21 to 35 days, there is a chance that you have an underlying problem.

Any big change in your menstrual pattern or amount of bleeding that affects your daily life requires a medical check by a health professional. This includes menstrual bleeding for three or more menstrual cycles that:

* Lasts longer than 7 days.
* Is very heavy. If you are passing large clots or soaking a large pad per hour for 8 hours, your bleeding is considered heavy.

Same thing happened to me as a side effect of birth control. If you are on the pill, go to your doctor and have the prescription changed. My doctor said that he would give me medication that would stop the flow if it lasted over 14 days........Good luck to you
