You need to use Bluetooth and you need to make sure your using a carrier OTHER THAN VERIZON wireless in the US. Verizon INTENTIONALLY DISABLES the needed Bluetooth profiles for every thing except a Bluetooth headset.

If your cell phone has Bluetooth and you laptop does then you can set it up to provide the data connection via the Bluetooth connection.

You may need to get a BT adapter for your laptop.

Well the phone is Bluetooth compatible so if you used a bluetooth wireless adapter on the laptop you should be able to connect the devices together. You can get an adapter at newegg.com .. for example:

I am not sure why you want to make the connection, but don't assume because you gt them talking to each other you will be able to do very much. If you are trying to use the phone as a modem it may or may not be possible based on your cell phone carrier .. check before you spend time and money doing all of this..

infrared, provided both pieces of equpiment have that capability. Not sure how to set it up, i've never tried it. I just know that's the road to get there.
I'm almost posotive the laptop has infrared, my 5 year old toshiba collecting dust in my bedroom closet has it.
i'd check the net or your cell provider on the phone.
