Hi,

You could check what the IP Range is on the working computers, then try manually assigning an IP Address within the range to see if that works.

to open IPconfig you need to goto START --> RUN

then type `cmd`

This will give you a dos prompt bos, type IPCONFIG to get IP Address Details.

If you need any further help supp0rtech@yahoo.co.uk

Best Regards,

Rob.

Enable internet connection sharing on the computer connected to the modem This will change the IP address of the LAN interface to 192.168.0.1 and enables DHCP on the interface

Configure the laptop and other computer to obtain IP address automatically

resetting the ip wont help necessarily, the dhcp should be fine. it's most likely a firewall on the laptop, also make sure the laptop has the ip obtained automatically (so you get a gateway address assigned).
is it connecting by wireless?
if you need to configure your router, type the router's ip into your http broswer (eg http://192.168.0.1)

You need to restore the Ip address of the laptop. Do this:
go to START>PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES>COMMAND PROMPT

When you see the black box type in:
IPCONFIG /RELEASE
then IPCONFIG /RENEW

..after a while it will show some stuff with IP addresses like 192.168.xx.xx

now type in EXIT

..now start your browser ...it should connect..
