It really depends. Some people just know their pastor from church functions or just sermons - nothing personal. But, there is nothing wrong with being friends with your pastor or going to counseling - but I don't think it should go any further than that, unless you are both single and are looking for marriage.

People argue about this all the time...in my opinion, the pastor is on the same level of human as you are. He can have as many close people as he wants in the church and not have to worry about what others think. He's human too! He sins too and he has his problems just as much as the congregation does. I think people frequently put the pastor on a pedestal because he seems so "holy in God's eyes". But, hey, my pastor did drugs and cursed up a storm and has told us his back story many a time! But God has brought him a way's since then. Anyway, I say getting close to your pastor is absolutely fine.

You should be able to be close enough to tell your pastors anything that you're going through. I feel that's where the line should be drawn.

well ur supposed to be their friend but not to friendly that u sleep with them....that is wrong...hes a pastor.

I THINK YOU SHOULD BE CLOSE ENOGH TO DISCUSS MATTERS WITH HIM SO HE CAN FIND U HELP THRU THE BIBLE AND GODS WORD. HE CAN COUNCEL YOU BUT AT THE SAME TIME HES STILL A MAN AND ONLY GOD GIVES US THE HELP WE NEED 4 EVERYTHING.I DONT THINK ITS A GOOD IDEA TO BE 2 PERSONAL OR CLOSE WITHOUT GOD IN THE MIST.

um you mean sexally or Goddly.Probably just should like pray with him if you ask him to or listen to him preach.But if you want more than I would say your wanting something more.
