By taking a deep breath and act normal because if you want him/her to be interested in you it should be because of you and not someone you are trying to act like or be like.

I try to stay calm and centre myself. I don't look at him directly, just look in his general direction.
Dunno if it works; maybe everyone is secretly laughing at me, but I don't think so.

ive never been able to i get all tongue tied and hot and bothered i guess try not to give him direct eye contact
