A car is moving down a street at 55 km/h. a child suddenly runs into the street. If it takes the driver 0.75 s to react and apply the breaks.

I would convert the speed into units of meters per second and then multiply by .75 seconds.
55(km/h)*(1000m/1km)*(1h/3600sed)*.75sec=answer
equals about 11.46 meters.

u dont mention the brake? force of the brake usually also calculated.
