how do i mass delete old shows?

I have the IO DVR and its a pain in the neck to delete all of my shows one by one. I am almost out of recording space, but would like to save some of my shows. It seems the only way to get to the screen where you put an X next to the shows you want deleted, is when you run out of space all together.

Is there a better way then recording more shows untill it runs out agian.

And does anyone know what the % recorded space to hours recorded ratio is?? for example, one hour of recorded material is worth how huch %?

When i have deleted my shows from my TIVO i have done it one at a time. good luck
