2^3+(6-5)x4=12
3^2+(6+3)x3=36

Check:
2^3+(6-5)x4 = 2*2*2 + (1) * 4 = 8 + 1 *4 = 8 + 4 = 12 :o)
3^2+(6+3)x3= 3*3 + (9) * 3 = 9 + 9 * 3 = 9 + 27 = 36 :o)

I'm assuming that the little pointy thing means "to the power of".

So that first line would be 8 + 6 - 5 x 4 = 12.

Wouldn't the parentheses have to go like this?

8 + (6-5x4) = 12

It would be even better if you could use brackets for another level of grouping, making it much clearer what's going on.

8 + [(6-5)x4] = 12

The second one isn't an equasion, so.....??

(2^3)+6-(5x4)=12
(3^2)+6=(3x3)+36

Pay more attention in class.
