I think everyone thinks about straying at some point. I did in my marriage and when I reached the point that I knew I would actually act upon my thoughts, I knew it was time to leave.

Men and women are the same, the only difference is what pulls their strings. For men its usually appearance or a simple smile which usually is a sign of approval...for women it's usually appearance or simply the same sign of approval, in a smile or caring nature, both how-ever will appeal to a great personality, and what makes a personality great is relative to that person.
Like men, women at 1 time or another have probably THOUGHT of straying. That doesnt mean every woman has, nor that every woman wants to, its also then akin to men, not ever has or wants to, but now-adays its more likely for both.
Women tend not to however, due to social stigma or some other reason, whereas men find it easier to...remember if a man cheats, its usually with a female ;)
Either way, as long as the 2 people are mature and no-one gets hurt and those 2 are happy, then everyone to their own...and yes im not a married woman lol..but since skeptic isnt a married man and answered my question, I found it only fair to repay the honour ;)
Hope this helps from a males perspective. x
I can say so much more on this topic, but wont, as ive given enough for now I believe.lols

No, I've never thought of straying. What's special about marriage is that you have two people who love and trust each other, who can tell each other things they wouldn't tell anyone else, and who know they can rely on each other absolutely.
If you start keeping secrets from each other (I mean big secrets, not little secrets like buying a pair of expensive boots!), then trust and honesty go out the window. Once that happens, the only reason to stay with your husband is financial, and that's not fair because you are using another human being for your own selfish ends.
The only reason to stray is if you're unhappy. If you're unhappy, then you should be honest enough to break up. Don't wait till you find some other guy to act as a crutch, that's weak.
I do realise that if there are kids involved, you may want to stay together for their sake. If that's the case, go to counselling. Work hard at finding a solution, even if that solution is that you both agree to stay married but see other people.
Cheating is dishonest, sneaky and hurts other people. Don't.

As difficult as your situation might be now straying would change it forever and not for the better. Put the shoe on the other foot and imagine you found out your mate strayed. Would you justifiy it as excusable simply because you were having difficulties at the time. Could you easily forget that he touched some other woman in the same way he promised only to be with you. Possibly even doing things he hasn't done with you? The dynamics of your relationship would be forever changed.

Nope never thought of straying. I have thought of leaving but never straying. No matter how much my hubby has hurt me I still could not do that to him. I will always be the bigger person and not have something like that on my conscience.

We are all human, we have thoughts that we can't always control we ar enot perfect. But the control comes in forcing the bad thoughts out of our heads. I would never ever stray from my husband. I have the utmost love and respect for him over anyone else in my life. He is that reason I am where I am today. He is my best friend, my eternal companion, the father of my children. He is my life!!
I think cheating is one of the bigget dishonors a person can do to their families.

I'm not married, but I know I would never stray. I believe you should treat someone and respect them the way you want to be, so if I don't want my man to cheat, I won't cheat. If he does it anyway than that's just his loss on the relationship; at least I know my conscience is clear. I don't know why someone would stray.... if they don't truly love the person, then they shouldn't be with them.

I love how black & white everyone is looking at this. There are shades of grey in any situation. You may say you'd never cheat or stray but honeslty no one knows what they would do until they're in a situation. And sometimes your actions may surprise you. My motto is never say never. Not just in this type of situation but any situation because you just really have no idea until you are faced with the choice. You can swear up and down you'd never do any such thing and still end up doing the unthinkable.

I've strayed, but we were separated. We're back together now and it's really hard. There's not a lot of trust. Would I do it again? NO WAY!!!! Would I even think about it? Why yes, but then I remember how stupid it was...and that I love my man.
