Can you loose your mucus plug in a discharge type way little by little everyday? If so after how long would you say its about time labor is coming? I am 36 weeks and have been having light yellow discharge everyday for a couple weeks,and without lossing the mucus plug all at once,how will I know when I should be going into labor even with the contractions?

I agree with the thick hair-gel statement. Mine was streaked with blood. Two days later she came. Once you get contractions you'll know. Try to relax.

Not sure, I don't think i ever lost my mucus plug and if I did, i didn't notice it. I was told in my lamaze class that it's not to much of a big deal to lose it. That if you lost it just to tell your doctor on your next visit. It just means your cervix has ripened enough to allow the plug to fall out. How far along that is =, not sure but probably different for every woman and every pregnancy.

Are you sure it is your mucus plug, all three of mine were really thick and almost like(not to be gross) discharge triple bad after sex. It did come out little by little with one of them and it was almost like a brown dried blood color and then got more red blood color. My last baby it came out and they still induced. My first it was two weeks after losing it before I went into labor.

you can loose you mucus plug little by little, but your mucus plug isn't the same as discharge. mine looked like very thick hair gel. others have said that theirs is bloody. once you start getting contractions, you will know.

Im not positive but yes its possible to lose it over a number of days im 38 weeks and I been passing mine for the past 3 days.

sounds like tis just discharge. that happened to me and i was convinced it was the mucous plug too! but its not. if it was the mucous plug labor would be sure to follow rather quickly.
