Well first of all, who said we think we are number one?
We are nothing more, than the children of all the other nations on this beautiful planet. And, when the age of our country is compared to all others, one could say we are still in the adolence-stage of our development.
All the things we are, we have learned from the rest of the world.
It might not be the best thing sometimes, but the intentions are usually good.
Most Americans are trying to live life the best we can, and try to improve it for the next generation.
Most of the people here are not superficial, and would gladly help anyone less fortunate than themselves.
And to say that we are jealous of the Arabs, or any other nation, is just simply ridiculus.
Remember, our people have come from all around the world; they are Arabs, Latinos, Mexican, Italian, etc...
Why do you not love your children?
As a good parent, you would not shun your child if they did something you didn't approve of, would you?
No probably not. You would want to teach them all that you know, so when they go out into the world on their own, they will be better prepared and more equiped to handle what life has to throw at them.
Instead of always putting Americans down, and bad-mouthing us, why don't you help guide us or work along with us, to improve the way things are done.
I'm ready, willing, and able to do what is necessary to make life better for all humans. Are you?

Because we can't (or don't want to), see the forest for the trees.
All I can see is trees, you mean that this isn't a garden? It is some huge forest? Glad to know you have a loftier point of view. We are melting, the sun? Cool, and here I thought Brazil was melting the planet by burning rainforests, that means I can do something to change it! If you think Hawaii is bad you should see what Tahitians think of the French. We have culture, we have culture from all over the world, lots to celebrate! That is when we are not working our ____ off trying to keep food on the table and a roof over our head. Music stolen from London? Sorry I thought we stole the African beats from the African slaves that the British brought over when they settled our east coast.
Sorry that all you saw was the superficial plastic bubble, atheists keep calling this and that religion and getting it banned from the public places.
We surely hope that you find a place on this planet that you can tolerate, that is beautiful, kind, just, peaceful and cultured. There is nothing on this planet that is heaven, so we wish you the best of luck.
Hope you have a lovely week.

They say ignorance is bliss. I would think that you live in bliss.
Social Security may not be the best, but to make a blanket statement that it is the worst in the world demonstrates your lack of knowledge of the world. Ask someone in Mexico, Philippines, Indonesia, China, North/South Korea, and the list goes on to exchange their monthly government retirement check for a Social Security Check and I think you would find a lot of takers.
I would agree that Americans have become to materialistic, but that is not an American phenomena. That is what happens when a society becomes very successful. What about Japan, Hong Kong, and South Korea to only name a few.
I noticed that you elected not to mention all the wonderful things that were invented in the United States that other countries have decided to adopt and use. Telephones, electricity, polio vaccine, and that list also is very long. I would venture to say that inventors in countries other than the U.S.A. are very grateful that Americans thought their products were worthwhile and elected to purchase them.
It took you three years to discover the U.S.A. was terrible to you? You are a slow learner aren't you. I have great respect for you if you love your country better than you love mine that is called patriotism and I admire that in anyone. I have no problem with anyone pointing out the problems in the U.S.A. and there are many for no place is perfect, but you are not being constructive you sound like a young boy or girl venting their anger for not being borned in the U.S.A.
I do not believe that any American is jealous of anyone from any place else in the world. I would hope they have the upmost respect for all the people of the world. I have lived all over the world and at the moment I live in a Third World Country and I am very happy here, but I would never be so foolish to say that the people in the U.S.A. do not have far more advantages than the people in the Philippines.
The Asian and European currency always goes up when the U.S. dollar weakens. That is not a sign that Asian and European currency is growing stronger because of something they are doing right. I am amused at the Philippine Administration playing up the 50 to 1 value of the peso to the dollar and taking credit for the great job they are doing in running the country. They have had nothing to do with the 50 to 1 value. They can be thankful they were in office at a time when the U.S.A. economy began to slow. But, I can assure you if the dollar remains weak the Asian and European currency will follow in time. Once again you have demonstrated your lack of knowledge concerning world events.
I may be wrong but I sense you are very young and inexperienced. I hope that you are young because perhaps then there will be time for you to mature and grow up. Perhaps there is even time for you to turn your anger into something constructive for the people of your own country.
I feel sorry for anyone so filled with hate as you seem to be.

You're going to have to sharpen up your points. I don't mind debating but you're wasting your words in posts like this:
We have some of the lowest speed limits in the western world, especially compared to Germany and Russia.
We contain as many cultures as there are races of people here. If it didn't, you wouldn't have lived here for three years. Have as much of a problem with this place as you want, but please be man enough not to look a gift horse in the mouth.
If California and Arizona were Mexico, other Mexicans wouldn't sneak in to find work anymore.
Among the oldest of original American immigrants were Italians, who brought pizza and other tasty recipes with them. Cultural diffusion isn't theft -- it's CULTURE.
Media and plasticity are very closely related. Any culture that seeks the privilege of one has the other. As for being an
"ice cub" ???
It's true. I am a baby polar bear.

Apparently your culture doesn't know how to right coherent sentences. What part of America did you live in for three years. Southern American culture differs from Midwest culture. Eastern American culture differs from western American culture etc etc.. Because America is so vast in land mass we have a variety of Cultures. Their are different vernaculars and accents in each part of this country as well. " most Americans don't know geography." according to who? you? I believe that I am competent in Geography and I'm an American.
And how can you say that America doesn't have a culture.
It was American culture that defeated the soviet union. whats is the worlds second most recognizable word. It's Coca-cola. dozen' coke come from America. America does have a culture. it's barbeque's football and going to the movies. it's supporting your local high school and celebrating the 4th of July with friends and family. Look at Europe their own cultures are being taken over by Muslim immigrants.
Open your eyes everything you do is influenced by American culture.

Sorry you have such a negative view of Americans. I love being an American despite our many flaws, social and econimical problems. I certainly don't agree with everything all Americans do but I am proud to be a citizen of a country that protects the freedom of the world, the rights of the poor and oppressed, and believes all peoples should have the same rights and liberty to pursue life and happiness.
May the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob bless you.

America was once a 1st world country.
I predicted to a friend in 1998 if G.W. Bush became president, America would become a 3rd World Country.
In 2006, We are a 4th World Country. The Chinese own us. They own the mortgages on our McMansions, car loans on our Lexuses, credit card companies, etc.. We've endebted ourselves to foreigners. Jacob was indebted to Laban for 14 years and Laban kept tricking him every time.
We are slaves and hence, I agree with the asker.

Dude, now you are committing a logical fallacy. You assume that ALL Americans are the same. And Asians, and Mexicans, and Hawaiians, and anyone else. Nobody is the same. Maybe you have had a bad experience somewhere, but it does not make all the people who live there bad.
