I know there are more *up to date* movies with great special effects, but i adore george romero's night of the living dead, it's a classic and i watch it way more often than i should, (go romero!) I live right where they filmed it, boo! You should try going to the graveyard where they filmed the first scene, eeeooowwweeeeooohhh, Martin, which is another Romero film.
i also like (the older films-not newer versions) cathy's curse, the night evelyn came out of the grave, the hills have eyes, nosferotu (the old one), the attic, the tenent, crawlspace, carnival of souls, whatever happend to baby jane, whats the matter with helen?, motel hell (thats a little newer thanthe others though), don't know if rosemary's baby counts or not, wow, too many to bring to mind right now, I might post more later....

One of the scariest for sure. Makes my skin crawl, just thinking about it. The Birds is another one that really still freaks me out. Any of the older black and white Dracula movies are really scary too. Dial M for Murder, The Fog with Adrienne Barbeau who played Maude's daughter on tv. Okay I'm all creeped out now..Goodnight.

no, sorry, but Freddy Kruger from nightmare on elm street was a lot scarier. but i think the scariest movies are the ones that could happen and be real such as Saw and Hostel

i appreciate the whole is the unique one, scary action picture a million... it really is so humorous as hell... in spite of the undeniable fact that the worst might want to honestly be scary action picture 3, the action picture develop into a million hour 20 minutes yet then I felt so quickly that this is the picture of 40 minutes of filming...

the first time i saw "night of the living dead" was at a drive-in...and a cold ground fog started moving in during the show...worked on me!!!...and the scene with the little girl in the basement?...WOW!...
the old school low budget horror movies ("texas chainsaw massacre", "hills have eyes", et al) are waaaayyy scarier that these lame remakes hollywood is throwing at us now!

But the movie was pretty scarry as i remember it.BY the way, I think the year was 1967/68? THE OMEN was pretty funky too
