After all it's just a bit of skin like the rest of our body. Men have them too & theirs are not obscene. Everybody has seen them. We all know what they look loke so what's the big deal?

It's not obscene and doesn't even have to be "sexual". It's probably seen as obscene due to people like your first answerer.

It is just another part of the body and men do also have them...I think because alot of men see woman's breast as sexual it may considered obscene to some people....but some women also feel a man's aureole is sexual as well...really depends on the person.....To me there is no big deal about it...

Partially it's due to the fact that men are wired to get excited about breasts (which are part of women's way of attracting a mate, is why they're proportional larger in humans) in general which makes the female version seem dirtier. Also, milk comes out, and a lot of what is obscene is sexual or involves excretion. Of course the mouth, nose, and eyes can pump stuff out too, but it's probably too impractical to keep all that covered.

As long as men leer at womens breast - they will be considered sexual and need to be covered in non-sexual situations. Like nipples everyone has to wear padded bra's to keep the wolves at bay.
