Anyone ever experience or know anyone who was not as big being pregnant even at 36 weeks, but still had a pretty good sized baby,or does not being as big in pregnancy indicate a smaller baby?

Every woman and every pregnancy is different. My cousin's girlfriend was expecting a baby a few years ago in September. The baby was born September 19. I saw her in August and I couldn't even tell she was pregnant. She is pretty thin, too. She had on a sweatshirt, but she looked perfectly normal and not anywhere close to being as far along as she was. Her baby weighed over 7 pounds so he was normal sized, she was just tiny. How big you are does not always indicate how big your baby will be.

"Being big" is kind of a misnomer. The doctor or midwife will measure the height of your "fundus", or how big the actual womb has gotten, as opposed to how much weight you've gained or how much fat you've added to your girth.

I was quite large when I conceived my first child, and consistently lost weight during my entire pregnancy. This was due not only to 'morning sickness', but also to my healthier habits. I had an 8+ pound girl. As long as you are eating well, and getting the proper amounts of nutrients, there is no reason for a woman to have to look like a house to have a healthy, large baby.

Just for comparison, I had lost 80 pounds and was a slender 125 when I conceived my second. I kept up those same healthy habits (that's not to say I never ever cheated), and he was larger than his sister.

I would say that it all depends on the position and size of the baby. As well as the mothers stats. I am 5'5" and was 125 lbs before i got pregnant. I was All baby, i have a friend who is 5'8" but 250lbs and didnt show at all. I also know someone who was smaller then me and didnt show at all. It turns out her baby was just positioned further back. I guess it all depends on where the embryo implants and the postion.

I was larger before I was pregnant and when I got pregnant I lost a lot of weight due to severe morning sickness but neither one of my babies were over 7 pounds. I was small and petite with nothing but belly but my babies were average size.

I was 130 when i conceived and was 153 when I gave birth. I was very small through out my entire pregnancy and I was full term and gave birth to an 8lb 8oz baby. Just because you have a small belly, doesn't necessarily mean you're gonna have a small baby and vice versa.

most likely does indicate a smaller baby, but some women "blow up" in the 8th or 9th month when they were smaller all through the early stages.

i had a friend who stayed in all of her same clothes throughout her whole pregnancy. They got a little tight, but that was it. Her baby was born 2 wks late and weighed 7lb 6oz.
