It's funny you ask that, Minkus, because I knew somebody who wanted to become a Catholic priest or a monk for that very reason.

I have wondered whether organized religion was created as a "get rich easy" scheme (remember that in the early days, laypeople were forced to pay "tithes", or 1/10 of their income to the church in taxes.)

You mean I don't have to bag groceries?

Look cyberspace is free right! However you can make big bucks by placing yourself between cyberspace and all the cyberspace cadets. I mean big bucks!

Now to avoid a Real Job you have to make Real Money. Organized religion places itself between men and God. Everything with God is free; but if you can position yourself right the money rolls in.

Now add a few thousand false religious ideas and a few hundred false religions and everybody has some business. More product more income potential. More books, more software, more upgrades!

I think you have about got it. I just wonder about the spin on your question? Include all religions, leave none out.

I think religious people who place themselves right have a real job that pays real well day in and day out over thousands of years.

Maybe you should have said -- "So they don't have to get an honest job?" You can pimp religion just as easy as you can pimp cyberspace.

Yes I do! There are too many perverted people posing as priests just to use organized religion as a tax write-off and to sexually molest children and take advantage of love sick women!
