I want to dress up as Medusa for halloween, any ideas how I can make snake hair?

Get some of those rubber snakes from one of the Halloween costume stores and braid them into a loose crown to wear on your head. Then you can add other ones to it and let them hang down from it onto your hair. I had a friend that did that a few years ago. We went to a Halloween theme party where everyone dressed as characters from the old movie Clash of the Titans. Let me tell you, her Medusa was a big hit. Especially her hair, everyone kept saying how great it looked. By the way, she used those green paper over wire twist ties (the kind you can get from the produce section of grocery stores to close your bag of fruit or vegetables) to secure the ends of the snakes together. It wasn't noticeable and it held them in place well. Good luck with your costume!

if you have long hair (or a long wig), unwrap a wire hanger (several, actually) and wrap it around your head. Buy some rubber snakes from a toy store and stick the ends of the wire hangers into the ends(tail) of them. Once the hanger is inside the snakes, you will be able tobend the snakes how you want them. Make sure to arrange your hair so you can't see the hangers. Do this with several hangers and voila! You are Medusa!!

Take some plastic wire.
Wrap some paper around it until the "snake's body" is thick enough.
Let the wire protrude a bit at the end - that's the snake's tongue.
Wrap the paper more tightly near the end so it forms a bulge - thats the snake's head.
Paint the whole thing whatever colour you want your snake to be.
Make a lot of them and stick or glue them in a hat.
Wear the hat.
Oh yeah, bend the snakes to they're looking directly at people who look at your medusa hat :)

Well,I not to sure if it would work but you could buy some rubber snakes and buy some kind of elastic cap or something for your head and cut the bottom of the snakes off. Then,you could glue them to the headwear thing and look like medusa. Sorry if it doesn't work.

I do not think that I would want to put anything in my hair so, I would buy a halloween wig and sew the ends of the snake tails into the wig.

Wind bunches of green and brown felt pipe cleaners (you can purchase these from any craft store). Buy one sheet of red felt and cut out little tongues and hot glue them to the end of the snakes...you even hot glue eyes on if you want to get really detailed. Buy a black or green baseball cap, cut off the rim, and get crazy with the hot glue sticking your "snakes" on...

Do you have long hair? If you do, then put your hair into a bunch of braids. After that Take some pieces of wire that fit the length of the braids. Stick them through the end so they are hidden through the braid and bend the wire (your hair will bend and stay like the wire).

Go buy a bunch of rubber snakes and attach them to a swimming cap buy cutting off the ends and hot gluing them to the cap.

get small clear or black rubber bands from a store like wal mart. have someone else zig zag your hair into sections (small section) and put the hair into the rubber bands. repeat this until your whole head is covered. you will know its right when people ask why you have little snakes coming out of your head when they look quick at you..
